Payment Options and Policies
I accept cash, check and credit cards.
Self Pay:
Many people pay out of pocket for services. By doing so, insurance is not involved and so no mental health diagnosis is given. Visits will not be dictated in frequency or length by the insurance company who does not know you, me or your situation. I will have no need to communicate with or release any personal information to your insurance company. Essentially, paying yourself gives you maximum privacy, choice and flexibility in your treatment. Some have noted that self-pay represents an investment that they are making in themselves which brings greater meaning to the work we’ll do together. There is no waiting to contact your insurance company, get authorization, etc.
Insurance:
In Network: I accept Excellus Blue Cross Blue Shield and Aetna. Please check your coverage (before we meet) by calling the customer service phone number on the back of your insurance card and ask the following questions:
PLEASE NOTE:
If you decide to use your health insurance to pay for therapy, then you should be aware that I will have to submit a mental health diagnosis and dates of service in order for insurance to pay for your sessions. This will become part of your medical record indefinitely and I can’t guarantee that it will stay confidential once it’s out of my office. I am occasionally required to provide additional clinical information, such as a description of the problem, treatment plans, treatment summaries or copies of your entire record. Should you have specific questions regarding the type of information your insurer requires or how they protect your information, I encourage you to contact their customer service department directly.
My Cancellation/Rescheduling Policy:
Life happens and things come up. If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please call me at (585) 727-0136 as soon as possible. You will be required to pay a "no show" fee if you miss our appointment or I do not receive a call or voicemail notification at least 24 hours before we’re scheduled to meet.
