About Me
Everyone has different ways of dealing with problems, stress and emotions. Sometimes what used to help them cope no longer works or they want to do something different in order to feel better. But doing something new is hard. So is asking for help.
It doesn’t help that therapy often has a stigma attached to it. Some people feel embarrassed about needing help or they may have been taught that going to therapy is a sign of weakness. Therapy is just two people having a conversation in a comfortable place about what is happening in their life that’s causing some discomfort. We will work collaboratively to reach solutions and improve your well-being by tapping into your own personal strengths. Your wants and needs will guide our time together. I will draw from my experience, training and several models of therapy to get you feeling more like yourself again. With that said, finding the right therapist that you feel comfortable with is essential for obvious reasons. I am hoping that you’ll find us to be a good fit.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with my R privilege in the state of New York. I earned my Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Chicago specializing in family support after completing my undergraduate studies at the University of Rochester. I am a member of the National Association of Social Workers. As a licensed clinical social worker, I am trained in diagnosing, psychotherapy and assessment-based treatment planning. For more information, please see “Services”.
